Kaleigh McAfee, MS
Clinical Therapist
If you're ready for change, I'm ready to be with you through it. I believe my role is that of a passenger - to ride alongside and support you on your journey to cultivating the internal resources you already embody, so you may lead an integrated life with more clarity and compassion.
Who I help:
Individuals
Adults (ages 20 - 60+)
More about me
I am incredibly passionate about trying new things and getting out of my comfort zone (I enjoy a healthy dose of Type-II fun). My favorite thing in the world to do is laugh. I love being on or in the water. I read like it's going out of style (horror + psychological thrillers are my go-tos). I'm an INFJ, Virgo Sun, Cancer Rising, Pisces Moon (IFKYK), and am currently walking my spiritual path.

How I work
I may be the right fit if you find that therapy didn’t “hit the spot in the past,” believe your coping skills are only getting you so far, or if you’ve had success with traditional talk therapy in the past but would like to dive deeper into your inner world. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) as my primary treatment modality, yet consider myself to have a holistic approach to treatment as I support creative means of meeting your goals. In supporting the expression of your unique parts, I encourage therapeutic incorporation of things that make you, you - music, art, reading and writing, a relationship with nature, spiritual practices, etc. I am also a registered yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner, as well as an iRest yoga nidra meditation teacher; I can use these tools collaboratively for self-exploration and/or regulation during and between sessions.
You can expect sessions with me to be deeply connected, intuitive, and insightful with bright splashes of laughter, fervor, and encouragement. I also often create exploratory “homework assignments” custom to you to encourage self-reflection and integration between sessions, as most of the “work” happens beyond the hour we spend together.
Meet Kaleigh
I've lived a lot of lives before becoming a therapist. I have an undergraduate degree in Management of Aging Services from UMBC (2012) and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University (2021). I served in the U.S. Army for 6 years, and have since supported folks in various professional roles as a crisis counselor, sexual assault case manager, funeral director, and home funeral educator. Most importantly, I deeply believe in this work; I have worked with my own IFS-certified therapist for 4 years and have experienced transformation through other various healing modalities. I have met myself deeply, and I feel strongly about my ability to hold safe space for you to do the same.
