Courtney Woodworth, MA

Licensed Associate Professional Counselor

One of my greatest privileges as a therapist is to witness individuals discovering the strength to embrace their stories, the compassion to heal, and the courage to connect deeply with themselves and others.

Hello! I'm Courtney— I'm a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University, and while I’m a Georgia native, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Alabama. My experience includes working in community-based agencies with individuals and families navigating the effects of childhood trauma. Additionally, I spent several years working internationally for non-profits, which deepened my empathy and understanding of diverse experiences and the resilience of the human spirit.

Meet Courtney

I approach therapy with warmth, honesty, and understanding, creating a space where, even amidst pain, laughter and creativity can serve as powerful tools for healing. I’m passionate about the profound connection between the mind and body and the innate wisdom our bodies have for healing. In my work, I blend somatic techniques with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients make sense of their experiences, reconnect with their bodies, and process their emotions. This gentle approach facilitates the release of stored tension and trauma, inviting you to cultivate a deeper connection with yourself and with others.

If you’re feeling stuck—whether in relationship patterns, cycles of anxiety and depression, or struggling to process past experiences—I would be honored to support you as we navigate these challenges together. I truly believe that healing happens through connection, and we’re not meant to do it alone.

How I work

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, being outdoors, and spending time with people I love. I’m a huge fan of laughing, so I like to prioritize having fun. I also enjoy making art—whether it’s writing, painting, or baking from scratch, I love the creative process.
